In Real Life

In partnership with Kinetic Kids, New Vistas in Education Foundation is currently developing In Real Life —a unique program that includes comprehensive instruction in all high-priority early reading skills while focusing on real life interpersonal attributes that will benefit many children, especially those with special needs.

The program is designed for digital delivery at home or school. Interactive stories and activities engage young readers as they master skills they will use daily “in real life.”

All the learning modules are hosted in Pubbly, a revolutionary digital platform that allows for animation, sound effects, page turning, and more.

THE PROGRAM AT A GLANCE

The program addresses common behaviors exhibited by children who have autism. It helps them develop soft skills so they can secure positive and productive relationships.

COMPONENTS

A systematic, sequenced approach to early reading teaches students how to read while also building essential soft skills for improving relationships with peers and adults.

PRACTICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT

Children’s stories and videos support parents, teachers, and guidance professionals as they address topics such as bullying, making eye contact, and expressing gratitude.

Readers can influence the outcome with a touch. Surprises keep young readers on track while demonstrating the difference between inappropriate and positive behavior.

As children read the stories, they are able to see behavioral modification in action. For example, a young reader may touch a character’s face and be rewarded with a big smile.
